Amiya Atahar completed her BS and MS degrees from University of Dhaka. She also worked as a research fellow at MCRL for one year from 2018. Her MS thesis work was to study water structure modification as a function of temperature, where α- and β-cyclodextrins (CDs) and their inclusion complexes (ICs) with two hydrophobic imidazolium based ionic liquids (ILs); 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, ([C4mim]PF6) and 1-dodecyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, ([C12mim]PF6) were used as additives to water. Her BS project work involved studying the effect of concentration of a cyclic oligosaccharide, α-cyclodextrin; as an additive to water at different temperatures, using spectroscopic and physicochemical methods.
