Mahbub Alam earned his BS and MS degrees from University of Dhaka. His thesis work was to investigate the effect of alkyl chain length of aliphatic alcohols on the transport properties of their binary mixtures with a protic ionic liquid, diethylmethylammonium trifluoroacetate. His project work involved the study of the physicochemical properties of protic ionic liquid based on diethylmethylamine and its binary mixtures with water.
