For his undergraduate project, Shimul Saha worked on cyclic voltammetric studies on electrodeposition of cobalt from aqueous solutions and reverse microemulsions of CTAB. His objective was to study the electrochemical reduction of cobalt in aqueous solution and reverse microemulsions and compare them to have an insight into the electrodeposition of cobalt from a surfactant based organized medium with desired morphology and microstructure. For his MS thesis he worked on electrodeposition of cobalt with tunable morphology from aqueous solution, reverse microemulsions and hydrophilic ionic liquids.
